Does your world feel a bit crazy, out of control, even chaotic?
You’re not alone, this seems to be a common state of being these days. Sadly, being spaced-out (ungrounded) makes dealing with the current situation even more difficult, leaving you sad, stressed, depressed, hopeless, unsure what to do next.
Grounding can make a huge difference
Psychology today reports that being grounded brings “… a deeper connection to the authentic self. Groundedness is associated “with an experience of clarity, wholeness, ‘rightness’ and harmony.” Continue reading →
Do you feel all the fear, every time you turn on the TV, pick up a newspaper or read all the posts on Facebook? Did you know that fear can actually weaken your immune system making you more susceptible to viral flu and other illnesses?
Stress and over-stimulation weakens your Immune system
What do Anxiety, Depression, Sleeplessness, Exhaustion, Brain fog have in Common?
If you are battling any or even all of the above issues, you’re not alone. It seems that everyone I talk to these days is complaining about most of these issues. In fact, the actual statistics are alarming.
Studies report that high levels of people have been diagnosed with:
Chronic Sleep issues 18%
Depression 7% in one study, 20-30% in others
Fatigue & exhaustion – various reports put that number between 20-75% of people.
That’s last is a pretty startling number. I also found it worrisome that the statistics given vary so greatly.
The Roller Coaster – from happy to depressed, anxious or out-of-sorts in seconds flat!
If you’re an empath or an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) your emotions can often feel like a rollercoaster. They can also be extremely confusing because sometimes they aren’t even yours.
That sudden mood swing may be an emotion that you’ve “picked up” from someone else; co-workers, neighbors, friends, your kids, your significant other, even the person standing behind you in the grocery store. Continue reading →
Negativity from other people and the media can be more than simply an unpleasant part of life, it can be threatening your health and outlook on life, causing stress and depression.
You don’t have to be an empath or HSP to be affected by negative, angry or unhappy people – everyone is affected to some degree. You have an energy field that responds to the fields of those around you, and if their field or vibrations are negative your energy begins to drop to meet their negative vibration. Continue reading →
We all want to be ourselves, authentic in the world. It’s part of being a healthy human. But too often, those of us who understand the benefits of alternative healing and mindfulness feel pressured by family and friends who don’t “get it.” Follow your bliss to a healthier life.
Stress Reduction Techniques may even be covered by insurance
It can be frustrating, but we should take comfort in the fact that, more and more, mainstream culture is embracing holistic living. Many insurance policies cover massage, acupuncture and chiropractic healing now. And businesses are embracing meditation and other stress-reducing techniques to support employee health.
I talk frequently to people in the healing professions or who work with the public and they are truly exhausted. They are doing their jobs because they care about people and want to help. But as often happens they are giving too much of their own energies and suffering in the process. Continue reading →
Independence Day is supposed to be all about Freedom. That message gets lost frequently in the fireworks and the picnics. Freedom means many things to many people, for some it’s just the freedom to speak their mind, worship in the faith of their choice, make a living doing what they love, or just to be able to walk down the street without fear. Freedom has many aspects and even if I spent an hour writing about them, they still wouldn’t be all that meaningful to you, because they may not be speaking to the freedom that you crave in your life?
“What does freedom mean to you?” I’m not just talking our Bill of Rights type freedoms; I’m talking about personal freedom. Continue reading →
It’s Halloween and everywhere you look there are movies, haunted houses and other fearful things. Fear is something that we seem to enjoy, at least I think we must since we seek it out and continue to allow it to find its way into our everyday lives.
I can hear you saying “But you’re wrong, I don’t enjoy it, I don’t allow it in, it just is.” It’s one thing to watch a scary movie; you know it’s not real so the fear is temporary. However, many of us continue to watch news and read articles piling on more and more things we need to be afraid of. One of the problems with this is that there is so much to be afraid of, you can’t even assess what truly needs your attention. How often do you take the time to do a reality check and see if it’s really something that YOU need to be afraid of? Continue reading →
