Electricity is such a common utility that most homeowners don’t give it a second thought. But as our dependence on electronic devices has increased over the past few decades, so too has our reliance on electricity itself. And not all currents may be as “clean” as you might expect, dirty electricity surrounds us.
A recent report from Health Impact News, several researchers have found evidence of “dirty” electricity infiltrating our homes and affecting our health. Whether we live in the city or in the country it’s all around us. Power lines and ground currents now encompass much of North America, so no matter how far off the grid you live, you may still experience negative EMF health effects. Continue reading →
There’s no denying that the amount of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and radiation that permeates regularly throughout society continues to increase with the rise of technology, such as cell phone towers and wifi everywhere. The debate over the extent of these potential EMF dangers and laptop radiation effects can have on the human body continues, as more and more evidence suggesting the importance of learning how to block EMFs comes out. There are plenty of people who will tell you that cell phone and cordless phone radiation is harmless. The most troubling part, though, is that many of these people are the ones who make U.S. governmental policies on electromagnetic field, or EMF dangers.
In a piece published by the Portland Press Herald, Marina Schauffler, Ph.D. and founder of website NaturalChoices.com, outlined the errors that infect our current policies and stance towards EMF dangers. As she points out, it’s not as easy as simply saying who’s right and who’s wrong. Continue reading →
It may not be plainly obvious to the average American, but we are bombarded daily with more electromagnetic radiation than is healthy for our bodies. It’s not just a theory, either — according to a study conducted in 2012, chronic exposure to electromagnetic fields produced palpably higher physiological stress levels in the cells of exposed individuals than were observed in those with less exposure. Scientists also found that it only took about one or two years of exposure to EMF for the symptoms of chronic exposure to occur. In less severe cases, it was found that bioeffects from cell phone use can occur in only minutes. Continue reading →
With the way our country is now, electromagnetic interference is all around us. If we could see the signals from our appliances, cell phones, televisions, and laptops, we would see a never ending iridescent stream of waves all around us, shooting through us and eventually outwards, all over the place. These waves practically go on forever through space and are part of how we measure exactly how long it’s been since Earth’s first radio broadcast, which we can still detect. Continue reading →
Considering how much the world has advanced in the past decade or so, it’s no surprise that we face more threats today than ever before. While technology has helped us grow as a civilization, it has also resulted in some new dangers that many people aren’t even aware of, with electromagnetic radiation being chief among them. Continue reading →
Sadly, No. It’s actually about as safe as putting a cell-tower in your living room.
Many of us who use a cordless phone at home think we are reducing our exposure to EMF by not spending as much time on our cell phone. The bad news is that Swedish researchers have found that cordless phones also raise the risk of developing cancer. They found that brain cancer risk was multiplied for those who used DECT cordless phones…and the risk was even higher for those who combined the two.
Did you know that the level of radiation from your base station can be the most significant source of radiation, even more so than the radiation near cell phone towers? Truthfully, this was shocking news to me. Your cordless phones emit radiation both from the phone (handset) as well as from the base, even when the phone isn’t being used. This radiation is being beamed throughout your house constantly. Continue reading →
