Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity Defined: What is it and What Does it Do?

electromagnetic sensitivity

Electromagnetic sensitivity sounds pretty futuristic, but the phenomenon is very much present in today’s world. Although there’s plenty of information and resources already out there for people to learn the answers to these question in more detail, a recent piece from the largest online community empowering people to lead a healthy and green lifestyle, Care2.com, recently summed the condition up pretty well.

Basically, electromagnetic sensitivity is a condition in which a person is adversely affected by exposure from electromagnetic fields (EMF). The condition is characterized by a variety of different ailments and symptoms and has been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an increasingly problematic issue.

Estimates are that up to 6% of people are already sick because of it, and another 30% are experiencing symptoms, but don’t know that’s EMF is the issue.

As recently as May 2015, over 190 scientists from 40 countries called on the U.N. and the WHO for more protection against non-ionizing radiation. Everything from microwaves and radio frequencies to wireless technology as well as poor power quality, ground current, and extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields associated with electricity.

As the world has become more mobile, wireless, and digital overall, this should come as no big surprise. Even when they aren’t being used, cell phones emit radiation. All the laptop radiation and large appliances that spew electromagnetic fields into the air has to go somewhere. Ultimately, a lot of it ends up going right into human bodies unfortunately.

As the article points out some of the symptoms of electromagnetic sensitivity include, skin ailments, headaches, chest pain, sleep disturbance, blood pressure, depression, and muscle pains. Chronic EMF exposure produced physiological stress in cells after just 1.5 years, as found by one study conducted in 2012.

Currently, it’s not possible for the everyday person to test for this condition. A 2014 study published in the Mediators of Inflammation journal tried to answer this problem by looking at electromagnetic sensitivity and a person’s ability to detoxify chemicals that have entered their body. Unfortunately, that test is still not available to the public.

Thankfully, with the many EMF protection products we offer at BioElectric Shield, you can protect yourself and your family from these unseen EMF dangers today. Our full body protection shields will help deflect everything from WiFi, cell phones, and even the unhealthy energy emitted from other people!

There are certain vitamins and minerals that can be supplemented into your diet to help protect you as well. Zinc, copper and magnesium are all ones that the Care2 article mentions as typically being low in people who suffer from electromagnetic sensitivity.
