I was going to start off the newsletter with a commentary about the devastation in Japan. However, I find that I am equally concerned about the level of hysteria that keeps being pumped out into our atmosphere.

We are at such a hyper vigilant state, ready to take action against every threat, that, unfortunately, we sometimes jump to action too quickly, causing new problems. We don't take time to think the subject through, and ask if these actions are truly necessary or make sense.

The media has just been shamelessly promoting panic and desperation about Japan. The more positive collective energy we can generate the more it will help improve the situation and counterbalance all the negativity and sensationalism. This is true of all disasters and crisis that we face either individually or collectively.

If we can step back from the hype and hold a place of balance and peace in our hearts, we and our world will be better able to deal calmly and rationally in ways that are positive and uplifting. If we can come from a place of love instead of fear, we can help the healing process so much more than helping the negativity and fear build.

We can send love to a specific place, but when we can move into the bigger picture we are sending love to all parts-----understood and not understood, seen and unseen, manifest and not yet manifested.  Our personal empowerment helps to open a space for the bigger picture without judgment and without limitation.

Take a few minutes to feel love and send positive thoughts to all the people's of the earth.

Last night, as Dr. Brown and I were entertaining dinner guests, one of them asked about taking potassium iodine to combat the radiation.

He said: "I'm concerned that people may not realize that you only take this as a last resort, and with a physician's guidance. Doses are extremely weight specific- and it you give a child an adult dose, there will be serious medical consequences.

So far, the only people who should be ingesting this in Japan, not in the United States!

Potassium iodine is NOT a good option unless you know you are about to be massively inundated with radiation - which is simply not the case, even on the West Coast of the this country.

Remedies for Exposure to Radiation

Some of you, particularly if you live on the West Coast, may be concerned that some of the radiation from Japan will travel to our country via the air currents that circulate the earth. It is inevitable that some of the radiation will be present in our air in the coming weeks. Fortunately, there are a couple of simple remedies to help your body rid itself of any radiation that is absorbed via the air.

Solution #1: Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll, in liquid or capsule form, is an amazing cleanser (liquid is best if you can get it). Most health food stores have it in stock. If not, it can be obtained online.  Dr. Brown has located a reputable site which explains the many benefits of ingesting chlorophyll.

From their site: "Green vegetables provide protection from radiation damage in test animals. This information has been reported in the scientific literature since the early 1950s. Early reports showed that certain vegetables significantly reduced mortality in rats exposed to lethal doses of X-rays. Dark green broccoli offered more protection than the lighter green cabbage. In a later study, the same vegetables were shown to reduce the damage caused by radiation. These protective effects were more pronounced when even darker green vegetables such as mustard greens and alfalfa leaves were used. When two or more of the green vegetables were fed together, the positive resistance to radiation was greatest."

Dr. Brown recommends taking the chlorophyll for the short term issue of radiation. For removing the effects of not only radiation but heavy metals, pesticides, plastic toxins and other volatile organic compounds (VOC's), he recommends using a specific type of zeolite called Natural Cellular Defense.
