 What can I expect wearing a Shield?
Everyone has their own unique experience with the Shield. The Shield comes with an energy similar to the ocean, or old growth forest. You may notice that your energy is smoother throughout the day. Many people don't feel physically different because they already have healthy energy. However, they might notice that air travel is no longer as tiring as it used to be. There are so many benefits and reactions to wearing a Shield, we can't list them all here.
We seldom notice when we're feeling better, it's the tired, sick feelings we're aware of. After you've worn your Shield for awhile, ask yourself some questions: Am I less tired? Am I less stressed, or dealing with the stress differently? Did I handle a situation with someone better than usual, or walk away not being exhausted? Am I sleeping better? Did the pain in my body improve? If you read our testimonials after you have had the Shield for while,
you may see how you have changed the same way someone else reported and not even realized that there has been a shift.
Can I share it with someone or give it to someone after I have worn it for a while?
No, you can't unless you clear or recharge it first. The Shield patterns to your energy field in just a matter of hours, and so if you gave it to someone it could actually be uncomfortable for them, if your frequency was quite different from theirs. You can let them hold it, or do a muscle test with it (if you are trained in doing applied kinesiological testing correctly).
If
you want to share your shield with anyone, it must be hung in the
daylight hours for at least 6 days in a row. (Remember to take it in at
night.) This re-charges it, and more importantly, clears your energy
pattern from it, and returns it to "neutral". It can then be worn by
anyone. Repeat the process if you want to start wearing it again.

I've heard the Shield has to be recharged periodically? Do I have to send it back for this?
No you don't have to send it back for recharging!! With constant use crystals can become fatigued, losing some of their effectiveness. By hanging the Shield in a window for 6 hours a month in daylight (it doesn't have to be sunny), allows the energy of the sun to recharge and revitalize the crystals. By doing this your Shield will last a lifetime.
What is the Shield made of?

How do I take care of my shield? (see full page of instructions )
If the Shield is hung in a daylight (sunny or cloudy) at least once a month in a window or outside for at least 6 hours, then it will stay fully charged forever.
You cannot overcharge the Shield by putting it out in daylight for more than 6 hours. However, do not leave your Shield off of you hanging out when it is dark. Moonlight will drain it's energy. That does not happen when you are wearing your Shield at night.
If you work in an extremely negative or stressful environment, you could recharge your Shield more than once a month.

- Can my child wear one? (see Shields for Children)
Yes, we find that some children, typically the younger ones, are very attracted to their parent's Shield, and try to actually grab it and put it on. If your child seems to want to wear a Shield, we suggest that you make one available to them to wear at home until they are old enough not to lose it when they are out of the house. It's also easy to safety pin the Shield inside a garment or pocket.
Some parents tell me that their children hang it on a bedpost, and it stays there all the time. Sleeping with it works very well for children since it has a residual effect during the day. We have made them for 3 years old and up - and they put them on and take them off intuitively...which is why it's good to keep the Shield inside the home environment. When they are old enough to wear a Shield responsibly, then they are also at the age where they are working with computers and/or watching TV up close. Either of which indicates an important time to protect your child. Some parent's report pinning the Shield to their child's backpack or in their pants pockets with great success.
- What crystals are in the shields?
Our Shields have all natural crystals in them. They all include quartz crystals, and then the other types vary depending on where you live. (Please see "International Shields" which explains why this is the case).We don't give out exact formulas as to what is in each shield since this is proprietary information. - I feel something moving inside my shield, is that ok?
Inside the metal of your Shield is the crystal matrix. The crystals are securely set into a waterproof, shock proof holding material that keeps them safe even if you drop your shield. We usually put a dab of this holding material on the top of the matrix so it will push up against the dome of the shield, thus holding the matrix still. Occasionally it will rub away, and the matrix will be able to move a tiny bit inside the shield. Since it only moves a tiny amount, it does not affect the performance since all the crystals are still securely in place.

- What if I don't want to have to depend on an outside force to protect me? Shouldn't I be able to do this myself?
While each person has tremendous untapped potential to protect themselves without a Shield, why not take advantage of a natural product that will protect you from unnatural energies. If you had a choice between flying between San Francisco and New York, or walking, most people would use the technology of airplane, instead of taking months to walk! It can be thought of as a modern convenience just the way we think of phones and cars. They make our lives easier.
- Can the Shield get depleted?
The Shield can get depleted when you are in a high stress situation, but it has a self-charging mechanism up to a point. If you have had your Shield for more than a year and have not been following the monthly schedule, and you are wondering if it needs to be recharged, you probably are intuitively picking up that it's time for a "tune-up". First try hanging it in sunlight for a couple days and see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't, we suggest that you send it in for recharging. You can also have someone do the muscle testing with you to see if the Shield is working to capacity. To muscle test refer to the procedure shown in the "Shield Test/Research" section of this web site. For the testing you first do a pretest, then retest by either: imagining a stressful situation or holding up a battery operated watch or cell phone and retesting. Finally hold the Shield and retest again. If you test weak even with the Shield, it's time for revitalization. Another note if the Shield is not seeming to work, you might consider a stronger model Shield.

Design Issues. Could you design a Shield with another loop so I could wear it sideways instead of hanging?
The 5 tabs correspond to your 2 arms, 2 legs and head, ie, the anatomical position as drawn by daVinci. Adding an additional loop could affect the proper functioning of the shield. The function is the key part for you and everyone else. If you can cope with the way it's set up now, it would be best for another reason. May I assume that you wear it around your neck currently? If so, then the Shield creates an 360 degree protective energy pattern based on where you typically wear it. It creates a center point and then surrounds you with the protective energy. It would adapt differently if you wore it in a pocket, and again, it would change if you turned it sideways. It will work in all these positions, but it's easiest if you pick one position and use it most of the time. Occasionally I wear my in a pocket, and still feel completely protected, but the Shield does have to do some energy adjusting when it's worn in the pocket. I wouldn't really recommend the change you are making just in terms of effectiveness.

- Do I have to wear it all the time?
No, we suggest you use your intuition about how much to use the Shield. Most people wear it all the time either as a pendant or in their pocket. Some women will pin it to an under garmet so it is not showing, but still close to their hearts. Others use their Shields only during the day or in certain circumstances like when working with computers, when feeling especially stressed and/or being around people, etc.
- Is the Shield at the earth's frequency? Does the energy of the Shield shift as the earth's frequency changes?
The earth's frequency, sometimes called the Schumann frequency, IS increasing because the consciousness of the inhabitants is increasing. As the consciousness of the people goes up, the consciousness of the planet goes up. A key point to note is that many people assume that the shield is always at the earth frequency, and that, if it changes, then the shield isn't vibrating fast enough. However, the shield is vibrating at the highest frequency available and positive on this planet. This means that sometimes it's actually vibrating faster than the earth's frequency and sometimes they are the same. It fluctuates a lot. But it's not that the shield is catching up with the earth's. It's actually the other way around.

- Can the Shield "fix or lock" my energy at one frequency?
No, the Shield contains not just one crystal, but a specific configuration of crystals, which causes the Shield to behave differently than a single crystal. The Shield comes at a balanced frequency band. When you first put on a Shield, your frequency will be somewhere within that band. The Shield will find your specific frequency within 12 hours.
Here's an analogy for this. When you put two tuning forks together which are within a half a note of each other, they will tune to the same note within a short period of time. - What are"International Shields?
Different regions of the world have different energy needs. We've developed Shields to specifically meet the needs of each area. If you are travelling or living in an area outside of North America (i.e., USA, Canada or Mexico) for less than a year, your regular (North American) Shield is fine, but if you are going to another continent for over a year then we recommend getting one designed for that region. - Will a Shield absorb negative energy?
No. When a person buys a single crystal, it comes at one frequency and will absorb energy. Then the single crystal has to be cleansed with sea water or the sun. When you are wearing the Shield, it is not absorbing any energy. When it is on you, it is in the "protect and balance" mode, balancing and strengthening your energy field, and deflecting any energy not compatible with you. Therefore, it isn't ever going to absorb negative energy. When you take if off your body, the Shield is now on "input" and will accept the recharge, the way a battery also needs recharging. - If I'd like to get one for my partner, but they won't wear jewelry, is there any other option?
They can simply carry the Shield in a pocket. The ideal location for the Shield is over the heart. It works easiest and most efficiently there. But it is still doing its job while in the pocket.
They can put it on the night stand next to their side of the bed, and, as long as it is within three feet of them, it is in their energy field and balancing and strengthening and protecting them as they sleep.

- Can the Shield be worn during pregnancy?
Yes because the Shield strengthens a person's entire energy field. This means that it is excellent to wear the Shield during pregnancy. During pregnancy, a woman may need extra strength and a better balanced energy field for the additional demands that are placed upon her. If you leave it out over night, then 3 days of recharging, during day light hours only, will bring it fully back.
As for International Shields, please Do Not return for recharging unless you wish to cover the usually high shipping charges and complicated customs procedures!
- Will the Shild protect my child in front of the school computers
The basic silver with brass tabs will protect your child 99% from the emf from computers in the schools. If s/he uses a cell phone, we also recommend placing an EMF protection chip on their phone.

Can I/should I wear in while showering or bathing?
Yes, you can! The only time we suggest you take it off is if you are going into a chlorinated swimming pool, since chlorine tarnishes sterling silver quite rapidly. Tarnishing doesn't affect the performance of the Shield, but naturally, it looks nicer when it's not tarnished.
How does the Shield work to help me with stress?
By reinforcing your own naturally healthy and strong energies, you are

Can the Shield weaken your body over time as it becomes used to the shielding and thus does not have to work to protect itself?
The irony of this claim is that the Shield actually does the reverse of weakening the body over time. When someone puts on a shield, it assists their energy field in becoming more balanced, and having more strength, or "chi". Over time, it reinforces this pattern of energy balance and strength. Then if a person takes off the shield, their energy field stays at the new level of balance and strength.
Most people wear the Shield for months, and then find they are ready to take it off for a while...maybe a weekend, or a month, or even a year. All this means is that their energy field has built up a pattern of strength so that is deflecting negative energy all on it's own.

Do they wear out?
Not if you recharge them regularly. To recharge the Shield yourself and keep it working at peak efficiency, hang it in daylight, either sunny or cloudy, for at least 6 hours a month. Day light through a window is fine, but outside is even better! This recharging cannot be done while wearing the Shield in the sun. It needs to be off your body hanging free so there is space around it. This will re-energize the crystals in the Shield. The crystals in the Shield are constantly working and begin to get fatigued. Physicists have been recharging crystals through various methods for years, but we know that sunlight will work perfectly for the Shield. Do not leave the shield hanging in the moonlight. Moonlight will deplete the Shield.

Within 1 minute of holding the shield, I felt a coherence being established in my energy field, which is what made me decide to try it on. Having felt other “shields” and having a negative reaction to them, this was a surprise.

Over the past three days I have noticed the following:
1. Increased energy & stamina. I hiked up Mt. Shasta with no sense of tiredness or fatigue, even though I had not eaten in over 24 hours. I am sleeping less, but feel more rested and less fatigued and logey upon waking.
2. Less brain chatter. This is a big one for me, as it indicates that the parasympathetic nervous system is engaged more fully than the sympathetic—in other words, less stress effects.
3. Less emotional reaction: again, probably due to operating from the parasympathetic nervous system.
4. Huge difference in my experience in flying cross country. I don’t have the fatigue and “buzziness” that I usually feel when flying for long distances. I don’t have the “cooked” feeling.

I’ve just completed an 8 day cleansing fast and found it to be one of the easiest fasts I’ve ever done! I have no doubt that wearing the BioElectric Shield during my fast was the primary reason it went so easily. Usually, an 8 day fast is an energetic trial for me, with the usual fatigue, headaches, and other detox symptoms making the first few days unpleasant. This time, however, my energy continued to be high and even throughout the fast. Detox symptoms were reduced drastically, and my mood was great throughout!
